Waxing lasts much longer and feels much smoother than a shave since the hair is removed at the root. As it is a combined exfoliation process, we remove dead skin cells from the area. This is a crucial step for healthy and smooth skin. Additionally, hair often grows back slower and finer than before in comparison to the other temporary hair removal methods. Exfoliate up to the day before the appointment: One or two days before the appointment, lightly exfoliate the targeted area, but skip the exfoliation on the day of your appointment. Exfoliation helps with ensuring the wax grabs the hair and not the surrounding skin.
Moisturize up to the day before the appointment: The same approach goes for moisturization. Healthy, moisturized skin allows the wax to release more easily during the removal, but too much conditioner could coat the hair and ruin the wax’s grip.
Consider pain relief: While our estheticians are experts at their jobs and will do everything possible to provide a pleasant experience, most clients do experience a little discomfort. Consider takin an OTC pain reliever a half hour before the appointment to ease the discomfort.
